Barbara W. Abel

Barbara W. Abel, age 85, of Coatesville, PA passed away on February 19, 2026 in West Grove, PA.  She was the beloved wife of Edward E. Abel with whom she would have celebrated 66 years of marriage with on February 27, 2026.
 
Barbara was born in July, 1940 and was the daughter of the late Lillian and Clarence Wallace.  She graduated from Downingtown High School in 1958.  Barbara was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family.  She was a long time member of the Unionville Presbyterian Church and also served as a Deacon.
 
Barbara enjoyed the holidays, especially Christmas, and it brought her great joy to decorate her home for her family.  She also enjoyed listening to music and visiting and talking with family and friends. Among the many routines she faithfully kept, she never missed her weekly hair appointment.  It was more than a visit to the salon, it was a time of friendship and conversation.  Her rice pudding and lemon cake were always her family's special request.
 
In addition to her husband, Barbara is also survived by her children, Bob Abel of Coatesville, PA, Susan (Roger) Peterson of Kennett Square, PA and Randy (Elli) Abel of Coatesville, PA; her seven grandchildren, Amanda (Danny), Bobby, Jeremy (Carla), Justin, Joshua, Emily (Sam) and Ryan; and 3 great grandchildren, Penelope, Jasper and Cooper.  She is also survived by her dearest sister, Alice Foster of Coatesville, PA.
 
Barbara was also preceded in death by her siblings; Marian Hallman and Clarence, Charles, Robert and James Wallace.
 
You are invited to visit with Barbara's family from 10:00am - 10:30am on Thursday, February 26, 2026 followed by a service at 10:30 am at Kuzo Funeral Home, 250 West State Street, Kennett Square,PA 19348.  Interment will be private.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA  22116-7023.
