Nicholas “Nick” Dennis Kowal, 83, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026 in Unionville, Pennsylvania surrounded by his loving family. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1942, Nick was the beloved son of Nicholas Kowal and Grace DiAngelis.
Nick was the devoted husband of Patricia Ann Kowal, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and unwavering commitment to family. A graduate of Unionville High School, he went on to serve in the U.S. National Guard in his twenties. Through determination and an extraordinary work ethic, he built his own construction company from the ground up. Self-taught and self-sufficient, Nick approached every challenge with confidence and curiosity including building the family homes with his own hands. Always striving to learn more about the world around him he read his encyclopedias cover-to-cover from A to Z multiple times. A lifelong student and a natural teacher, he generously shared his knowledge and skills with others.
Above all else, Nick was a big-hearted and loving father who found joy in everything life had to offer. He always put his family first, leading by example with strength, humor, and compassion.
In retirement, Nick embraced the simple pleasures that brought him happiness. He enjoyed his bible and reading World War II history, became a sudoku expert, and most importantly treasured every moment spent with his family. Nothing brought him greater pride than watching his grandchildren, Camille and Nicholas play and Patricia’s many accomplishments.
Nick is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia Ann Kowal; his children, Brenda Kowal; Patricia Maristch and her husband Daniel Maristch; Nicole Lynch and her husband Christopher Lynch; Cody Kowal and his wife Allayna Kowal; his grandchildren, Camille Kowal, Nicholas Kowal and Patricia Olson and her husband William Olson. He was predeceased by his sons, Douglas Kowal and Charles “Chuck” Kowal.
